As a fiber artist, color is the first attraction for my eye. Whether the project is weaving, knitting or quilting, the color and texture of the fabric or fibers are my initial inspiration.
My knowledge and skills come from over 40 years of independent exploration and creative practice, and from numerous workshops with internationally recognized fiber artists.
Abstract art and architecture as well as the beauty of nature and gardens have inspired the design process in all my fiber work. Unusual combinations of movement, color placement and the free expression of modern art appeal to my creative imagination.
Watching how the fibers and colors “play together” as each piece comes together is always fun and exciting. I know what I want to achieve, but the fibers and fabrics often have a mind of their own. What fun this is!
My intention with each unique design, whatever its process, is to create it with joy and passion so that the recipient will feel its energy and vitality each time it is worn or enjoyed.
